Myuna Ruiz, MD

(General Psychiatrist)

Dr. Myuna Ruiz is the owner and co-founder of Miami Psychiatric Services, LLC. Born in Cuba, Dr. Ruiz immigrated to the United States in 2000, bringing with her a profound dedication to mental health care. She graduated from Medical School in Cuba in 1996 and later pursued further specialization in psychiatry, completing her residency at the University of Puerto Rico from 2011 to 2015.

Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Ruiz is a highly respected psychiatrist and an active member of the American Psychiatric Association. Her practice is distinguished by a blend of rich cultural heritage and extensive professional training, allowing her to provide compassionate and effective psychiatric care.

Dr. Ruiz is deeply committed to her family, which includes her spouse and two daughters. Balancing a demanding professional career with a fulfilling personal life, she believes that family is the cornerstone of her values and success.

In her professional role, Dr. Ruiz is dedicated to continually improving patient outcomes and well-being. Her vision for Miami Psychiatric Services is to offer comprehensive mental health care that is empathetic, accessible, and effective, making a lasting positive impact in the field of psychiatry.

Yanio Hernandez, PMHNP-BC

Yanio Hernandez, PMHNP-BC, brings a wealth of medical expertise and a deep commitment to patient care, shaped by his diverse experiences. Born in the City of Matanzas, Cuba, Yanio 's journey in medicine began at the Superior Institute of Medical Science in Habana, where he earned his Medical Doctor degree in 1991. Driven by a passion for helping others, he relocated to the United States and furthered his education, completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Florida International University in 2005. Yanio continued to build on his medical background, becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2017 through the Ana G. Mendez University System, and later specializing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Regis University.

Since 2018, Yanio has been dedicated to providing exceptional care at Miami Psychiatric Services, where he combines his extensive knowledge with a compassionate approach, understanding the unique needs of each patient. Outside of his professional life, he is a devoted husband and father of three adult children. Yanio’s hobbies reflect his love for nurturing life and staying active; he enjoys playing baseball, growing orchids, and caring for his beloved pet, Kobi. He also values quality time with his family, finding balance between his personal interests and his dedication to his patients.

Carmen D. Marti, PMHNP-BC

Carmen D. Marti, PMHNP-BC, brings a rich background in both medicine and mental health care to her current role at Miami Psychiatric Services. Born in the City of Matanzas, Cuba, Carmen developed a passion for medicine early in life, leading her to study at the prestigious Superior Institute of Medical Science in Habana, where she earned her Medical Doctor degree in 1991. After relocating to the United States, Carmen pursued further education, completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Florida International University in 2004. Her dedication to patient care motivated her to specialize further, earning her certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2017 through the Ana G. Mendez University System.

Recognizing the growing need for compassionate mental health care, Carmen continued her education at Regis University, where she became a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2021. In her current role at Miami Psychiatric Services, Carmen combines her extensive medical knowledge with a deep commitment to her patients’ well-being, offering personalized and empathetic care tailored to each individual’s needs.

Outside of her professional life, Carmen is devoted to her family, enjoying quality time with her husband and three adult children. She also finds joy in reading, watching movies, and cultivating a warm , welcoming environment for her patients, making them feel understood and supported throughout their treatment journey.

Mireisy Mesa PMH

Born in Cuba, Mireisy Mesa began her medical journey with five years of intensive study in Havana, completing her medical degree at Universidad Americana in Nicaragua. Driven to expand her expertise, she earned a Diploma in Diabetology at UNAN-Managua and a Master’s in Nutrition and Metabolism from the University of Cordoba in Spain. After moving to the U.S., Mireisy completed her Registered Nurse training in 2017 at EDP University in Puerto Rico and became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2021 through Miami Regional University.

Currently, Mireisy brings her diverse experience in family medicine and metabolic health to Miami Psychiatric Services, where she integrates her unique background with psychiatric care to support holistic patient outcomes. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, especially her daughter.
